Is You Is Or Is You Ain't?
A slightly older track for you this time. Ok, much older. It was written back in the 1940's or 50's by Louis Jordan, and it's a well known jazz / blues standard. I originally posted it on my old music blog some time ago but I'm posting it again here because it was featured in the last Rathole Radio. A few people asked where they could download the song at the time, so I've obliged.
This version was recorded back in 2007, around Christmas time in fact. It's just a couple of acoustic guitar tracks and my vocal. I did enjoy the chance to do a bit of blues guitar noodling on this though. The blues scale is the only scale I ever really learned at music college, much to my tutors annoyance. It's the only one you need though right? It always worked for B.B King and that's good enough for me.
Hope you all have a great New Year! I am still working on some musical surprises for you in 2010, honest ;)
Take Care

Nice!
Sounds very nice, clear and crisp. Really wish I had your mastering skills (and throat, and guitar skills, I could go on... :- ).Stoepvats
You is or you aint
Man, this sucked! Nah, it was actually quite good.Sound was muddy and unclear.Nah, it was actually crispy and sweet sounding.Im not gonna waste my time listening to this tripe ever again.... nah, I DLed it and added to my recent DL playlist.Sorry about that... I just finished watching Something Something Something Darkside for the 20th time, its starting to affect my speech pattern.Best for 2010 mate!Papa ChangoBarcelona/Montreal/ParisPS: "It's the only one you need though right?" When I started to play guitar, I kept playing Neil Young tunes and my friend asked me "I thought you didnt like Neil that much solo?" I didnt really but as long as you knew the C, D and E chords you more or less mastered all his songs right away. (and not matter how badly you sang, you never felt like it was that much worse than Neil)PS2: can you geek up your song notes with tech stuff like what hardware, mics, instruments, and maybe effects/software you use on your songs?
